Sound is measured on this device only. It is never recorded or sent anywhere. A microphone hears every shot on the range, so it ignores sounds that are quieter than your own calibrated shots and echoes right after a shot. It cannot tell your shots from another shooter's if they are as loud as yours (for example, the next lane). Keep the phone close to you and recalibrate in each spot. Always wear hearing protection.
Turn your volume up: the start beep is loud. Use with dry-fire or live drills — the start beep simulates a shot timer. Shots in the first half second after the beep are not counted (the beep is still sounding).
